Indymedia

The Independent Media Center (IMC) is a network of collectively run media outlets for the creation of radical, accurate, and passionate tellings of the truth. The IMC works out of a love and inspiration for people who continue to work for a better world, despite corporate media's distortions and unwillingness to cover the efforts to free humanity.

Seattle Indymedia

The Independent Media Center (www.indymedia.org), was established by various independent and alternative media organizations and activists in 1999 for the purpose of providing grassroots coverage of the World Trade Organization (WTO) protests in Seattle. The center acted as a clearinghouse of information for journalists, and provided up-to-the-minute reports, photos, audio and video footage through its website. Using the collected footage, the Seattle Independent Media Center (seattle.indymedia.org) produced a series of five documentaries, uplinked every day to satellite and distributed throughout the United States to public access stations.

Alternet

AlterNet is a highly acclaimed Internet information source that provides readers with crucial facts and passionate opinions they can't find anywhere else. Youth Media Council

Launched in April 2001, the Youth Media Council is a Bay Area-based youth organizing, leadership development, media capacity-building and watchdog project dedicated to developing youth-led strategies for media justice. Youth Media Council believes that youth and other marginalized communities need the tools, resources, strategies and skills to become strong and effective media spokespeople and advocates for social justice. Made up of representatives from 20 of the Bay Area's most vibrant progressive youth organizations, the YMC aims to strengthen youth-led campaigns for racial and economic justice.

Paper Tiger TV

Paper Tiger Television (PTTV) is an open, non-profit, volunteer video collective. Through the production and distribution of our public access series, media literacy/video production workshops, community screenings and grassroots advocacy PTTV works to challenge and expose the corporate control of mainstream media. PTTV believes that increasing public awareness of the negative influence of mass media and involving people in the process of making media is mandatory for our long term goal of information equity.

Grist Magazine

Democracy Now

Democracy Now! is a national, daily, independent, award-winning news program airing on over 300 stations in North America.Pioneering the largest public media collaboration in the U.S., Democracy Now! is broadcast on Pacifica, community, and National Public Radio stations, public access cable television stations, satellite television (on Free Speech TV, channel 9415 of the DISH Network), shortwave radio and the internet.

911 Media Arts

911 Media Arts Center was incorporated in 1984 and is considered Washington State's premier Media Arts Center. 911 Media Arts' mission is to support the expressive use of innovative media tools by providing the access, training and environment needed to create/exhibit works of enduring merit and artistic excellence. They believe everyone can and should have access to the tools of communication.

Center for Public Integrity

The Center for Public Integrity is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization that conducts investigative research and reporting on public policy issues in the United States and around the world.
